Donaire makes mince meat of Settoul, eyes title shot

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Following his knockout loss to Nicolas Walters, it looked like there’s no stopping Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr. as he eyes a title shot.

Not even Europe’s Anthony Settoul.

In fact, Donaire flashed his explosive form when he demolished Settoul in two rounds on Saturday (July 18) at the Cotai Arena in Macau.

Donaire decked the French boxer twice before the latter’s trainer threw in the towel at the 1:41 mark of the second round.

Donaire improved to 35-3 with 23 knockouts while Settoul fell to 20-4.

The four-division world champion now sets his sights on a super-bantamweight title bout, most likely against Englishman Scott Quig.

“Hopefully, a title shot,” said Donaire, who scored back-to-back knockout victories.
