Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Ten-year-old Gwyneth Dorado was selected to perform the Philippine national anthem during the last State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Benigno Aquino III.
Dorado will perform before the president delivers his speech at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Batasan Hills, Quezon City on Monday (July 27).
“This is in recognition of the mercurial achievement of a young girl, whose singing ability is adored not only in Asia but worldwide. She truly represents the vast and incredible wealth of talents Filipino youth can offer,” said Dep. Sec. Artemio Adasa, Jr.
The young songstress was one of the grand finalists of the recently-concluded TV talent show “Asia’s Got Talent.”
