Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — A long line of commuters — some of them drenched by rain — waited to get inside the MRT-3 North Avenue Station on Thursday morning (July 9). Only nine trains were running then, according to MRT management.
The line was estimated to be about 100 to 150 meters long. Some passengers told CNN Philippines that they had to wait in line for 30 minutes. Those who could not wait anymore decided to take the bus.

Eleven trains are running as of 11:30 a.m., the management said. They have not yet released an official statement to explain the morning’s shortage.
