Around a hundred houses were gutted in the famous island resort.

(CNN Philippines) — About a hundred residential houses were gutted by a fire in Talipapa Bukid, Manoc-Manoc in Boracay island on Wednesday afternoon (June 17).

Witnesses said that they saw a boarding house building ablaze around 2 p.m. before the fire spread in the neighborhood.

The local Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) carried out a probe to determine the cost of damage and number of casualties — if there were any.

The island resort in Aklan province is famous worldwide and is a favorite hub for local and foreign tourists alike.
