Task force formed for PH’s hosting of FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025
Metro Manila, Philippines - President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has created an inter-agency task force to lead the country’s preparations in hosting the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025.
The Philippine Sports Commission will serve as the chairperson and the secretariat of the task force, the Department of Interior and Local Government will be the vice-chairperson, and 15 more agencies will be members, according to Administrative Order No. 30.
“[T]he hosting of the FFWWC 2025 aims to advance the development of futsal in the country, inspire greater sports engagement among Filipinos, elevate the Philippines’ standing in the international sports arena, and generate economic and tourism opportunities through a globally recognized event,” Marcos said.
Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Panama, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Tanzania, and Thailand will participate in the inaugural edition of the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup.
The tournament is set from Nov. 21 to Dec. 7, with matches to be held in Pasig City and Victorias City in Negros Occidental.
