Metro Manila, Philippines - Half of Filipino families considered themselves poor in the second quarter, a non-commissioned study of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed.

Data from the pollster said 49% or at least 13.7 million families were of the opinion in the survey held in June 2025.

The score was just a percentage point below from the survey in April, almost unmoved, which showed 50% of families rating themselves poor.

SWS said the highest self-poverty rate was in Mindanao at 69%, followed by Visayas 60%.

Balance Luzon and Metro Manila had 38% and 36%, respectively.

Meanwhile, self-rated food poverty was unchanged at 41%. These are respondents who rated themselves food poor, based on what their family eats.

At least 1,200 people participated in the survey that had a ±3% margin of error.
