(L-R) Bong Go and Erwin Tulfo on the campaign trail

Metro Manila, Philippines - ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo regained the top rank in the Stratbase-Social Weather Stations’ voter preference survey, still dominated by administration and Duterte allies ahead of the midterm election.

Bong Go slid to second place with a 43 percent voter preference rate against Tulfo’s 45 percent, the pollster said on Thursday, May 8.

They were followed by:

Tito Sotto (3rd)

Lito Lapid (4th-5th)

Ben Tulfo (4th-5th)

Ping Lacson (6th)

Abby Binay (7th-8th)

Bato dela Rosa (7th-8th)

Camille Villar (9th-10th)

Pia Cayetano (9th-10th)

Bong Revilla (11th-12th)

Imee Marcos (11th-12th)

In the so-called “Magic 12” were eight administration-backed senatorial candidates.

Go and Dela Rosa are from the PDP of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Marcos, the president’s sister, and Villar are supported by Vice President Sara Duterte.

Other members of the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas were Manny Pacquiao and Benhur Abalos, tied at 13-15th place with TV show host and independent bet Willie Revillame.

Re-electionist Francis Tolentino, another Alyansa candidate, was further down the list at 21st.

In the last survey of Octa Research, the solid frontrunners were Go, Erwin Tulfo and his brother Ben, an independent. The two Tulfos are siblings of incumbent Sen. Raffy Tulfo.

The Stratbase-SWS poll interviewed 1,800 registered voters from May 2 to 6. The sampling error margins were ±2.31% for national percentages.
