PH voters want candidates who prioritize low prices, healthcare — survey

Metro Manila, Philippines - When deciding who to vote for, Filipinos heavily consider candidates who can keep prices of basic goods affordable and those who promote improvement for the healthcare system, an OCTA research survey showed.

OCTA’s Tugon ng Masa survey conducted from April 10 to 16 found that 53 percent of voters identify the affordability of basic goods and services as “the most critical concern.”

Meanwhile, the need to enhance and fortify the healthcare system ranked second among voters’ top concern with 50 percent of respondents identifying the issue as critical.

Other main national issues that could drive voter preference in the 2025 polls include:

Strengthening the agriculture sector and ensuring a stable food supply (47%)

Expanding job opportunities (41%)

Reducing poverty and addressing hunger (38%)

  • Combating illegal drugs (38%)

The survey was conducted with face-to-face interviews with 1,200 participants.

The independent poll has a ±3 margin of error at a 95 percent confidence level. Subnational estimates for the geographic areas covered in the survey have a ±6 margin of error for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
