Volunteers of poll watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting are putting the election returns in an envelope on May 13.

Metro Manila, Philippines - Citizens’ arm Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) has received 5.79 percent of election returns or printed summary of votes from precincts on Tuesday, May 13, a day after the midterm polls.

PPCRV spokesperson Ana de Villa-Singson said they were able to receive 5,406 out of 93,287 election returns, all from Metro Manila.

“It should be more but the rains are very heavy so our couriers were not able to pick up anything from the hubs. We are told that they have resumed picking up ERs (election returns),” de Villa-Singson said in a press conference.

The spokesperson said they face challenges in getting some election returns.

“Every election that is our problem: Minsan hindi ho binibigay ang ER namin, ‘yung third ER (Sometimes they do not give the ERs to us),” she said, adding that no explanation was given why the election returns could not be handed out.

Meanwhile, Singson said this year’s elections was “more peaceful” compared to previous ones.
