Signal No. 1 across regions ahead of #UwanPH entry
Metro Manila, Philippines - More than 20 areas across regions are now under Wind Signal No. 1 ahead of the entry of a weather disturbance expected to reach super typhoon category this weekend.
State weather bureau PAGASA, in its 5 p.m. bulletin on Friday, Nov. 7, said the center of Severe Tropical Storm Uwan (international name: Fung-Wong) was at 1,175 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Uwan is moving westward at 25 kilometers per hour (kph) and may enter the PAR Friday evening or early Saturday morning.
PAGASA said the maximum sustained winds are at 110 kph and gustiness of up to 135 kph, further intensifying into a super typhoon by Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
It said Uwan may hit land in this storm category in the southern portion of Isabela or northern portion of Aurora by late Sunday or early Monday.

PAGASA said these areas may encounter strong winds, posing minimal to minor threats to life and property. It added that the highest alert, Signal No. 5, may be raised in some areas during the peak of Uwan.
