Metro Manila, Philippines - Tropical Storm Nakri has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday, Oct. 9, the state weather bureau said, giving it the local name “Quedan.”

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 p.m. bulletin that “Quedan” was 1,370 kilometers east northeast of extreme northern Luzon. It has sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

PAGASA did not raise any wind signals as the weather disturbance is “less likely to directly affect the weather condition in the country.”

“Quedan” is also “unlikely to affect” sea conditions.

Based on PAGASA’s forecast, “Quedan” will be out of PAR on Thursday night or Friday morning.
