Metro Manila, Philippines - Filipino students looking to study abroad will have more opportunities to explore higher education in Europe as the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) 2025 returns next month with its biggest lineup yet.

Organized by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the Philippines and the embassies of EU member states, EHEF is an annual event that connects Filipino students, researchers, and educators with universities and scholarship programs across Europe.

The fair aims to make European education more accessible to Filipinos by showcasing degree programs, research grants, and exchange opportunities available throughout the EU.

For the first time, Latvia, Romania, and Slovakia will participate, joining the Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Finland, and Sweden. In total, 97 universities, embassies, and cultural institutes will be represented this year.

“Each year, EHEF grows not just in size but also in depth,” said European Union Ambassador to the Philippines Massimo Santoro.

“With new EU member states joining us and new program sessions expanding our offerings, we are opening more pathways for Filipino students and researchers to connect, learn, and thrive in the EU,” he added.

The fair will take place on Nov. 21 and 22 at the Midtown Atrium of Robinsons Manila, with additional online sessions on Nov. 24 for those unable to attend in person. Admission is free.

Aside from university exhibitions, EHEF 2025 will feature talks on EU flagship education and research initiatives, including the Copernicus Programme for Earth observation and EURAXESS, which supports researcher mobility and career development. A special session on Erasmus+ Capacity Building for Higher Education will highlight the EU’s continued collaboration with Philippine universities to strengthen academic partnerships and innovation.

EHEF is supported by the Commission on Higher Education and regional university hubs across the country, including the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, University of the Cordilleras in Luzon, Eastern Visayas State University in the Visayas, and Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan in Mindanao.

Partner institutions include Ateneo de Davao University, De La Salle University, University of the Philippines Manila, and Visayas State University, among others. Professional organizations such as the National Academy of Science and Technology-Philippines and the United Architects of the Philippines are also participating.

According to the EU Delegation, the fair reflects the growing number of Filipinos choosing to study in Europe through scholarships such as Erasmus+, one of the EU’s most prestigious international programs.

“Studying in the EU means discovering the world as you learn and share your skills and talents in a borderless Europe,” the EU Delegation said.
