Metro Manila, Philippines - The Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws opened their second round campaign with a rousing 75-68 victory over the Ateneo de Manila University in the UAAP Season 88 men's basketball tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Jorick Bautista dropped a game-high 20 points, including two clutch three-pointers to push the Tamaraws' lead late in the final quarter.

Kirby Mongcopa almost had a double-double outing for FEU with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Dom Escobar showed the way for the Blue Eagles with 15 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, while Waki Espina finished with 12 points and six rebounds.

The Tamaraws improved their win-loss record to 3-5 as Ateneo suffered its fourth straight loss in a row in as many wins this season.

FEU will next battle the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons on Oct. 26 at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion in Manila, while the Blue Eagles hope to end its slump against the league-leading National University Bulldogs on the same day.
