Manila, Philippines – Listed builder Megawide Construction Corporation has bagged a big-ticket P1.186-billion contract to build a transport hub for provincial buses and public utility vehicles entering Baguio City in a bid to decongest the City of Pines.

Megawide, the listed engineering contractor for a number of government infrastructure projects, made the announcement through a disclosure to the stock exchange on Monday, Oct. 20.

“On 17 October 2025, Megawide Construction Corporation (the “Company”) received the Notice of Award of even date from the Office of the City Mayor of the City Government of Baguio, confirming that the Company has been selected as the Private Sector Proponent for the implementation of the Baguio City Integrated Terminal (BCIT) Project, with an estimated total project cost of One Billion One Hundred Eighty-Six Million Pesos (PhP 1,186,000,000.00),” read the disclosure.

Megawide is also the builder of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITx) and other public private partnership (PPP) projects including the PPP for School Infrastructure Project Phases 1 and 2, the multi-year developments of Mactan-Cebu International Airport and the construction of Clark International Airport in Pampanga.

It last year made a bid for the Baguio City Integrated Terminal project, also a PPP contract, via an unsolicited proposal.

Megawide said the city government declared it as the private sector proponent after hurdling the Swiss challenge, a procurement method requiring other bidders to match or outdo an unsolicited proposal, which began in July and ended on Oct. 14.

The transport hub will be built in a five-hectare lot in Dontogan town bordering Marcos Highway, catering to provincial buses and public utility vehicles. It will have ticketing booths, waiting areas, restrooms with diaper-changing and lactation stations as well as commercial parking and park-and-go services.
