Metro Manila, Philippines - Still overwhelmed by her historic victory, Emma Tiglao of the Philippines said she remains “in awe” after she was crowned Miss Grand International 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday.

Tiglao’s win marked a back-to-back triumph for the Philippines, the first in the pageant’s history , as she succeeded fellow Filipina Christine Juliane “CJ” Opiaza, who turned over the crown after completing her reign.

In an emotional post on social media, Tiglao expressed gratitude to the Miss Grand International Organization and the Filipino people for their support throughout her journey.

“With a heart overflowing with gratitude, I am still in awe that this dream has become my reality,” she wrote. “Thank you, Miss Grand International Organization, Papa Nawat, and Mama Teresa, for trusting me with this once-in-a-lifetime honor.”

The 33-year-old broadcast journalist and pageant veteran said she shares her victory with the Filipino people.

“To my beloved fellow Filipinos — this journey became our story because of you. Your ‘1 million heart reacts’ were more than just likes; they were symbols of bayanihan, of unity, of love that echoed across the world. You showed everyone what it truly means to stand as one nation, one heart, and one voice,” she said/

Tiglao also reflected on the years she spent in pageantry before finally achieving a major international crown. A former Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2019 winner, Tiglao represented the country at Miss Intercontinental in Egypt, where she finished in the Top 20.

“Every setback was preparation for this moment,I learned that timing is everything and that dreams do come true when you stay patient, grounded, and grateful,” she said.

At the Bangkok coronation night, Tiglao won the Country’s Power of the Year award, a first for the Philippines, and advanced to the semifinals. Her poise and advocacy during the final segments, including the pageant’s “Stop the War” portion, earned her widespread praise.

Tiglao said she hopes to use her platform to “dream with purpose and serve with heart.”
