Metro Manila, Philippines – Motorists will face higher fuel prices at the start of a new month, as oil firms are set to carry out hikes on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

In separate advisories on Monday, Sept. 30, the following price adjustments will be implemented:

+ Gasoline: P0.45/L

+ Diesel: P0.90/L

+ Kerosene P0.30/L

This marks the second consecutive week of price increases, with gasoline rising by over one peso and diesel up by P0.20 last week.

The Department of Energy earlier cited various reasons behind the surge, including the uncertainty in oil supply due to escalating tensions in the Middle East and the latest “economic stimulus” pumped by China.
