The Philippines and India are looking to deepen maritime cooperation and finalize several bilateral agreements in the fields of law, science, technology, and culture as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. embarks on a state visit to India from August 4 to 8.

The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) initially scheduled for Dec. 1 will be moved to the first Monday of November next year under a law that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is scheduled to sign.

The peso has returned to the P58-per-dollar level during the week amid concerns over the direction of US interest rates, but recouped some losses at the end of Friday’s trade.
