Metro Manila, Philippines – Filipina singer Gehlee Dangca, a former member of K-pop girl group UNIS, is returning to the Philippines on Sept. 29 as she begins a new chapter in her career as a solo artist.
Dangca spent about two and a half years based in South Korea after joining UNIS, the girl group formed through the SBS survival program Universe Ticket.
She was among the Filipino talents scouted by SBS through Universal Records Philippines for the competition. Dangca eventually secured a spot in the program and ranked first in voting among the contestants before being selected as one of the eight members of UNIS.
She officially debuted with the group in March 2024.
During her time in South Korea, Dangca gained experience as a performer and K-pop artist while UNIS built an international following.
Now back in the Philippines, Dangca will continue pursuing opportunities in local and international entertainment while completing her studies.
Her return is expected to include media appearances and other activities that will allow her to reconnect with Filipino fans and expand her work beyond her K-pop career.
Continuing partnership with Universal Records
Dangca will remain signed with Universal Records Philippines as her recording label.
Her Philippine management will be handled by GLXY Talent Management, the talent management arm of Universal Records, together with Star Horizon TV Production.
The two management teams have supported Dangca’s career since before her participation in Universe Ticket and will continue to develop opportunities for her in the Philippines.
Dangca joins Universal Records and GLXY’s roster of international talents, which includes South Korean actors and singers Kim Myung Soo, also known as L, and Choi Bo Min, as well as Thai internet personality Aon Somrutai.
Her upcoming activities in the Philippines are expected to include media appearances and new projects as she continues developing her career as a solo artist.
