Metro Manila, Philippines — A total of 11,900 examinees proceeded with the first day of the 2026 Bar Examinations on Sunday, Sept. 6, out of the 13,441 applicants cleared to take this year’s exams.
Supreme Court Associate Justice and 2026 Bar Chairperson Samuel Gaerlan announced the figure as the Bar Examinations got underway at 15 local testing centers nationwide.
The 2026 Bar Examinations are being administered over three days, with examinees taking two subjects per day.
On the first day, examinees took Political and Public International Law in the morning, which carries a 15% weight, followed by Commercial and Taxation Laws in the afternoon, which carries a 20% weight.
The second day, Wednesday, Sept. 9, will cover Civil Law and Land Titles and Deeds in the morning, followed by Labor Law and Social Legislation in the afternoon.
The final day, Sunday, Sept. 13, will feature Criminal Law in the morning and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics, and Practical Exercises in the afternoon.
The examinations are scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon for the morning session and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the afternoon session.
