Metro Manila, Philippines – Tropical depression Pilandok intensified into a tropical storm on Tuesday morning, September 1, as state weather bureau PAGASA tracks two other weather disturbances inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to PAGASA’s 8:00 a.m. weather bulletin, Pilandok continues to gain strength while moving across the country’s monitoring zone.

Two LPAs under observation

Alongside Pilandok, the weather bureau is monitoring two Low Pressure Areas (LPAs) within the PAR.

LPA 08L: Unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.

LPA 08M: Has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the same period.

PAGASA advised the public and local disaster risk reduction management offices to remain vigilant and monitor official updates from them as these weather systems develop.
