
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) – As of 4:00 p.m. on Sunday (July 5), Tropical Storm Egay (internationally known as Linfa) has weakened after crossing Northern Luzon, according to the 5:00 p.m. bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Moving steadily northwest at 9 kph, Egay was spotted 55 km westsouthwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
It was packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center with a gustiness of 100 kph.
PAGASA estimated Egay to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rain within its 300 km diameter.
It’s estimated to exit the landmass via Cagayan this Sunday evening and will exit Philippine territory by Wednesday afternoon (July 8).
As of this posting, several areas were still under storm signal warnings.
