NBA: Steve Ballmer unveils new Clippers logo

Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, unveiled the new Los Angeles Clippers logo while guesting on Conan.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Even before the final buzzer sounded in the 2015 National Basketball Association (NBA) finals, the Los Angeles Clippers already began to make moves for next season.

Apart from looking different on the roster sheet with the recently concluded trade for Lance Stephenson, the Clippers are set to debut a new look on their jerseys as well.

In a guest appearance on Conan on Thursday (June 18 PHT), franchise owner Steve Ballmer unveiled the new logo of the Clippers.

“Let’s face facts, you look back at the history of the Clippers and it’s not a happy history,” said Ballmer. “People want a new Clippers, they want a happy ending to the story.”

Ballmer bought the Clippers for $2 billion following the aftermath of the Donald Sterling racism and ownership scandal in June 2014.

“I bought the team so late, we couldn’t do much,” said Ballmer. “Now we’re introducing the new Clippers, the new Clipper logo for example.”

This will be the first time the Clippers will change their logo since moving to Los Angeles from San Diego in 1984.
