‘On the Job: The Missing 8’ hailed as best film at 38th PMPC Star Awards for Movies

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 17) – Erik Matti’s “On the Job: The Missing 8” has won six awards, including Best Film, in the annual Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Movies held at The Manila Hotel on Sunday night.

The Philippines’ entry to the 95th Academy Awards also won Best Sound Design (Corinne de San Jose), Best Screenplay (Michiko Yamamoto), Best Supporting Movie Actress of the Year (Lotlot de Leon), Best Ensemble Acting, and Best Director (Erik Matti).

In his Instagram post, Matti expressed gratitude for his film’s latest recognition.

“Thank you so much PMPC for the recognition. How I wish I was there to witness all the awards you’ve given our film,” he said.
