
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 12) — The country saw a total of 6,630 new COVID-19 cases during the week of June 5 to 11, the Department of Health (DOH) reported Monday.
The tally reflects a 27% decline from the week before, the agency said.
The daily average number of fresh infections was 947, including 112 in severe and critical condition.
Meanwhile, 527 severe and critical patients are in hospitals, representing 11.3% of the total COVID-19 admissions nationwide.
Health officials also verified five new deaths due to COVID-19.
As of June 12, the country’s total confirmed cases since the pandemic began is at 4.15 million, with over 4.07 million recoveries and at least 66,400 deaths. The tally of active cases is at 10,761.
The DOH said more than 78 million people, or all of the target population, were vaccinated against COVID-19, including 23 million people with booster shots.
