Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 24) — Members of the Korean Coast Guard (KCG) will be sent to the Philippines along with donated equipment to help in the cleanup of the oil spill in Oriental Mindoro.
According to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, this is the first time the East Asian nation will provide aid for environmental cleanup in the country.
It said the KCG will arrive in the country on March 27.
“Korea highly values the importance of restoring areas affected by environmental disasters and accidents,” it said in a social media post.
