Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 16) — The Supreme Court on Thursday announced it will raise the Bar admission fee from ₱3,750 to ₱5,000.

The high court said the increase will take effect upon the oathtaking and roll signing of the 2022 Bar exam passers.

“The subject increase shall cover the imminent surge in the operation costs, particularly the cost of the venue for oathtaking and roll signing ceremonies, and other logistical expenses, as well as the allowance of concerned personnel,” the advisory read. “This is also concomitant to the innovations that will be implemented in the said court proceedings.”

Over 9,000 examinees took the four-day examination in November last year. The results have yet to be released.

Meanwhile, the application period for first-time takers of the 2023 Bar exams began on Jan. 8 and will end on April 30.

Previous takers and refreshers should submit their forms from May 1 to July 8.
