
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 24) — Metrobank said its branches nationwide are open on Friday to serve its customers, despite the late announcement of the Palace declaring Feb. 24 a special non-working holiday in celebration of the EDSA People Power Revolution anniversary.
In an advisory, Metrobank said all its branches are open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Check clearing process, meanwhile, would resume next week, Feb. 27, it said.All PESONet transfers made through its online platforms would also be processed on Monday, it added.Proclamation No. 167 — approved by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday — aims to “enable our countrymen to avail of the benefits of a longer weekend” ahead of the anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on Saturday, Feb. 25.
