Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 25) — Hundreds of passengers were stranded at the Manila North Port Terminal on Dec. 24 and 25 as the trips were rescheduled due to bad weather.
According to some passengers, shipping company 2GO texted them on Dec. 22 that their trips would be delayed due to bad weather. However, some passengers said they were not informed about the rescheduled trips.
Stranded passengers said they did not have a choice but to spend Christmas Eve at the port.
\”Mahirap din, may mga lamok tapos malamig dito. Disappointed po kasi gusto po namin makauwi ka agad. May kasama po akong aso,\” said Velvie Versoza.
[Translation: It’s hard, there are mosquitos and it’s also cold here. I’m disappointed because I wanted to go home immediately. I brought my dog with me.]
According to 2GO, the trips will resume on Dec. 26 at 6:30 a.m.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said the ferry services at the Manila North Port Terminal were normal.
The PCG also said it logged 18,932 outbound passengers and 18,381 inbound passengers in all ports nationwide from midnight to 6 a.m. on Monday. The agency deployed 2,777 personnel in 15 PCG districts and they already inspected 116 vessels and 106 motor bancas.
