
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 19) — An estimated 1,000 families were affected after a fire broke out at a residential area on Capulong Street in Tondo, Manila late Tuesday evening.
A fire officer also suffered minor injuries.
The Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region (BFP-NCR) said the blaze that affected at least 200 houses started at around 9:00 p.m. and reached fifth alarm at 11:02 p.m.
Fifth alarm means 20 fire trucks are needed to put out the flames.
The BFP-NCR declared fire out at 2:07 a.m. on Wednesday.
It also reported that the estimated cost of damage is pegged at ₱1.5 million.
