More than 6,700 Filipinos repatriated, 181 more to come – DMW

Metro Manila, Philippines – The Department of Migrant Workers on Friday, April 17, reported that more than 6,700 Filipinos have returned to the country since the Middle East conflict broke out.

It said returnees totaled 6,706, including 5,023 overseas Filipino workers, 1,343 dependents, and 340 tourists.

The largest number came from Dubai, and the least from Oman. The breakdown is as follows:

Dubai – 2,048
Kuwait – 1,153
Abu Dhabi – 1,023
Qatar – 700
Bahrain –  689
Riyadh – 684
Al Khobar – 133
Israel – 90
Lebanon – 77
Jeddah – 74
Oman – 35

The agency said the government shouldered the air fare.

Meanwhile, it said 320 repatriates from Bahrain, Dubai, and Qatar are arriving on Friday, April 17, while 181 others will come from Qatar, Lebanon, Israel, and Abu Dhabi on Saturday, April 18.
