Metro Manila, Philippines – The Gilas Pilipinas Women team is headed back to the FIBA 3×3 World Cup after eight years.
The Philippines secured the third and final ticket to the global showpiece following a 21-10 victory over host Singapore on Sunday, April 12, at the OCBC Arena.
Kacey Dela Rosa outscored the entire Singapore squad with 11 points, while Afril Bernardino and Mikka Cacho contributed six and four points for the Philippines, respectively.
The Philippines was earlier denied an outright entry to the World Cup after absorbing a 21-16 defeat at the hands of Lithuania.
The win came a week after the Philippines nabbed a historic silver medal at the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup at the same venue.
The Philippines last qualified for the FIBA 3×3 World Cup in 2018, where it finished in 17th place.
The FIBA 3×3 World Cup will run from June 1 to 7 in Warsaw, Poland.
