BTS to stage global live comeback on Netflix with ‘ARIRANG’

Metro Manila, Philippines – K-pop supergroup BTS will reunite on the global stage with a live comeback event streaming worldwide on Netflix, the platform announced.

Titled “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG,” the live special will air March 21. The performance will stream from Gwanghwamun, a historic landmark in Seoul, and marks the group’s first full-scale reunion since completing South Korea’s mandatory military service.

Netflix said the event celebrates the release of BTS’ fifth studio album, ARIRANG, and represents the first-ever live event broadcast from Korea to be livestreamed globally on the platform. The streaming giant partnered with HYBE and its label BIGHIT MUSIC to bring the comeback to audiences worldwide.

All seven members — RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook — are set to perform together for the first time in years.

The live special follows the announcement of BTS’ upcoming album and world tour. ARIRANG, scheduled for release March 20, is described as a reflective body of work exploring the group’s identity, roots and evolution after time apart.

After the album’s release, BTS will embark on the ARIRANG World Tour (2026–2027), with 82 shows planned across 34 regions in Asia, North and Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.

Netflix will further expand the comeback with the release of “BTS: THE RETURN,” a feature-length documentary film premiering March 27. Directed by Bao Nguyen, the documentary follows the group’s reunion process and the making of their new album, offering behind-the-scenes access as the members reconnect creatively after years of personal and professional change.

The film chronicles BTS’ return to a shared creative space in Los Angeles and reflects on how the group navigates questions of reinvention, legacy and moving forward together. Producers include This Machine, HYBE and EAST Films.

Netflix said the live concert signals a major expansion of its live programming slate, which has increasingly included global sports and event broadcasts. Upcoming live offerings include Major League Baseball games, the FIFA Women’s World Cup and The Actor Awards.

“BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG” will be a ticketed event, with additional details to be announced.

BTS debuted in 2013 and rose to become one of the most influential pop acts in the world, earning multiple Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles, selling out stadiums globally and receiving numerous international awards. The group is also known for its devoted fan base, ARMY, and for advocacy efforts such as the LOVE MYSELF campaign and speeches at the United Nations.
