Ateneo remains PH’s top university in 2026 Times Higher Education rankings

Metro Manila, Philippines – Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) remained as the Philippines’ top university for the fourth straight year, according to a Times Higher Education (THE) world rankings released on Thursday, Oct. 9.

Ateneo is the only local school that made it to the 1,001-1,200 bracket, with an overall score of 32.1-35.4.

THE is a British magazine reporting on issues about global higher education.

Schools are ranked based on performance indicators, namely, teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry.

In a statement, Fr. Roberto Yap, AdMU president, congratulated the Ateneo community for another remarkable feat.

\”Once again, I commend the entire University community for this achievement. It is a recognition of the hard work of our students and faculty, our researchers, our support staff and administrators,\” he said.

The University of the Philippines ranked second with a global rank of 1,201-1,500 and an overall score of 27.3-32.0.

De La Salle University, Mapua University, Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, and the University of Santo Tomas were also on the list at the over 1,501 brackets.
