Lone bidder for 2025 automated polls passes eligibility check of Comelec panel

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 8) — A joint venture led by South Korea-based company Miru Systems Co. Ltd. on Tuesday passed the eligibility check of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Special Bids and Awards Committee to bid for the 2025 automated election system.

The poll body’s SBAC is set to open the financial envelope of the joint venture between Miru Systems and local firms Integrated Computer Systems, St. Timothy Construction Corporation, and Centerpoint Solutions Technologies Inc.
Miru Systems is still the lone bidder for the 2025 automated polls project. It was deemed \”ineligible\” during the first round of bidding in December 2023 as it did not fully comply with the legal requirements.
This resulted in the first failure of bidding.

According to the Comelec’s invitation to bid in October last year, the approved budget for the lease of counting machines and other election-related materials to be used in the fully automated 2025 midterm polls is around ₱18 billion.
