Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Members of the Stop and Go Transport Coalition on Monday morning (April 4) barricaded the office of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in Quezon City.
The transport group protested the reduction in the flagdown rate of taxis from P40 to P30. The LTFRB reduced the fares on March 19 to reflect the impact of lower oil prices in the world market.

Stop and Go also protested the LTFRB’s decision to charge P3.50 for every succeeding 500 meters instead of the original 300 meters.

According to the group, their income after the fare reduction will not be enough to support the daily needs of their families.
