ERC chief suspended for another 4 months

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 2) — Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chair Jose Vicente Salazar has been suspended again, this time for four months.

The decision was signed Wednesday by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

Last May 2, Medialdea placed Salazar under a 90-day preventive suspension for various administrative charges.

The ERC Chair was accused of anomaly by ERC director Francisco Jose Villa Jr. who committed suicide last year.

The charges against Salazar include serious dishonesty, gross neglect of duty, grave misconduct, gross insubordination, violations of the Government Procurement Reform Act, Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, and Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees among others.
