Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 29) — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has again extended the deadline for the exchange of old series banknotes for new ones. The deadline is now moved till June 30, 2017.
In a statement released on March 23, the BSP said the decision was in response to “public clamor for a longer period of exchange of NDS (New Design Series) banknotes.”
The BSP said old banknotes may be exchanged at the BSP or other authorized agent banks.
The BSP earlier set a deadline of March 31, 2017 and said banknotes not exchanged after the date would be demonetiized.
