
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 9) — The bad weather caused by tropical depression Salome has prompted local government officials to suspend classes in some areas on Thursday.
The following provinces have canceled classes on November 9:
Albay (all levels)
Camarines Sur (all levels)
Calapan, Oriental Mindoro (all levels)
Sorsogon City (preschool to high school)
San Pablo, Laguna (preschool to high school)
Storm Signal No. 1 is up in Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, Romblon, Marinduque, Southern Quezon, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Leyte including Biliran due to tropical depression Salome.
It is expected to pass Southern Luzon today. It may also make landfall in either Masbate, Romblon, or Mindoro Island today.
