Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 16) — Organizers postponed the concert of Pinoy Rock icon Joey “Pepe” Smith, after the 70-year-old rock pioneer suffered a stroke on Wednesday.
“We would like to officially announce that the Pepe Smith Rock Fest is being moved to a later date. This is upon consultation with his manager, the family and Pepe Smith himself in respect to his health and well-being,” the organizers said, through Smith’s Facebook page.
No date was announced yet on when the concert, which was originally scheduled on November 18, will be held.
“We thank all those who offered prayers and expressed their support for the Pinoy Rock Legend. Pepe will be back very soon,” the organizers added.
Smith’s manager Mark de Leon said Smith is in stable condition and is waiting for a neurologist to give the official medical report.
This is the third time Smith had a stroke.
