PBA: Mahindra disposes NLEX behind Alex Mallari’s 30 points

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Mahindra Floodbuster overpowered the NLEX Road Warriors, 106-96, on Friday evening at the Cuneta Astrodome.

With both squads already out of contention, the Floodbuster shifted gears after a slow start.

Alex Mallari almost had a triple-double for Mahindra with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists.

Russell Escoto was stretchered out of the court after suffering a left knee injury with 23.1 seconds remaining in the first half. He did not return to the game and recorded 12 points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field for Mahindra.

The frenetic pace of the match favored the Floodbuster who improved their win-loss slate to 3-7.

Eric Camson had 17 markers and six boards for the Road Warriors who fell to league-worst record at 2-8.

Mahindra will close out its campaign in the 2017 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup against the Star Hotshots on February 1 (Wednesday) at the Cuneta Astrodome.
