Filed on July 24 by transport advocacy group AltMobility PH together with the Office of Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, “The Magna Carta of Dignified Commuting” pushes for the idea of Philippine cities that have options for its people to walk, bike, and ride their public transportation of choice.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 6) — The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) is offering free rides in celebration of the country’s 121st Independence Day on June 12.

This was announced by the Department of Transportation in a Facebook post on Thursday.

It said commuters can avail of the free rides from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7.p.m.

The country’s other train systems have yet to announce free rides, but they usually offer these yearly during Independence Day, a regular holiday.
