Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 6) — Officials have placed the Luzon grid on yellow alert status again on Thursday following a similar warning earlier this week.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced the Luzon grid is on yellow alert from 9 a.m. to 4p.m.
A yellow alert occurs when power reserves have dropped below the minimum 647 megawatts.
NGCP said the available capacity was at 11,753 megawatts while peak demand is expected to be at 11,241 megawatts. However, it has yet to explain the cause behind the warnings.
This comes after the NGCP announced a yellow alert status for the Luzon grid on Monday that extended until Tuesday afternoon.
