Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 12) — The President skipped a campaign rally for his Senate bets Friday.
President Rodrigo Duterte was scheduled to attend a campaign rally for the PDP-Laban party to be held at the Mindanao State University campus in Marawi City, but he was a no-show.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said this was due to bad weather.
“Not good weather for the flight to Marawi, so he cancelled it so opted to rest,” Panelo said in a brief statement.
Duterte has been consistent in attending PDP-Laban sorties.
Usually held out in the open, he has also recently started talking behind bullet-proof glass during these gatherings.
