Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 17) — Police caught two officers from the Metro Manila Development Authority on Friday, for allegedly extorting money from food delivery drivers.

A police report detailed that around 5 p.m., traffic constables Darwin Reyes and Elmer Balunsat stationed in Barangay San Lorenzo, Makati flagged down two food delivery drivers and asked ₱600 from them – ₱500 from one driver and ₱100 from the other – or else they will not be allowed to pass.

The victims later reported the incident to the police, who then apprehended the officers.

MMDA spokesperson Celina Pialago said the two personnel have also been sacked by the agency.
