Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 9) — Two Filipinos in Lebanon have tested positive for coronavirus, a Foreign Affairs official said on Monday.
Foreign Affairs Asistant Secretary Ed Meñez said the two are quarantined at a hospital in Beirut.
He also gave an update on the status of the other Filipinos abroad who were infected with coronavirus. Four cases have been recorded in Hong Kong, three in Singapore, and two in United Arab Emirates.
Meñez said of the 80 Filipinos who contracted the disease on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship formerly docked in Japan, 40 have already recovered, 21 have returned to the Philippines, while DFA is working on bringing home 19 others who have recovered.
