CJ Perez, Alvin Pasaol headline PH 3×3 team for Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifier

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 18) — CJ Perez and Alvin Pasaol banner the Philippine team that will be competing in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifying tournament next month in India, the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) announced on its website Tuesday.

Perez and Tautuaa have already represented the country on the international stage when they won the gold medal in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games last December.

Meanwhile, Pasaol and Munzon are fixtures in the 3×3 scene as they won numerous tournaments locally and internationally.

The Filipinos are in Pool C with Slovenia, France, Qatar and Dominican Republic.

Only the top two countries in the group stages will advance to the quarterfinals, with the top three nations earning a ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Joining them are PBA player Moala Tautuaa and amateur cager Joshua Munzon.
