Maynilad announces water service interruption for Dec. 5 to 7

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 5) — Some barangays covered by the service concession of Maynilad Water Services Inc. in Metro Manila and Bulacan will experience service interruption from December 5 to 7 due to maintenance works, the company has announced.

Affected areas are in Valenzuela, Caloocan, and Quezon City, as well as Meycauayan and Obando in Bulacan.

Based on Maynilad’s schedule, there will be low pressure to no water flow for households in several barangays from 10 a.m. on Saturday until 6 a.m. on Monday on a rotational basis.

Maynilad explained in a statement Friday night there will be reduced production of clean water at the La Mesa Treatment Plan 2 to make way for maintenance works that were postponed in the aftermath of Typhoon Ulysses. After the typhoon battered Luzon in mid-November, both Maynilad Water Services Inc. and Manila Water Co. had service interruptions due to murky dam water and power outages, the statement added.

Once supply gets back to normal, Maynilad said customers may find the water discolored and murky, but they should just let it flow for a few minutes or use a clean cloth as filter. Clean water should eventually come out of the tap, Maynilad said.
