(CNN Philippines, January 28) — Filipino tennis player Alex Eala advanced to the third round of the 2020 Australian Open junior girls’ tournament.

Eala won seven out of the 10 break points and took advantage of Belgraver’s 26 unforced errors to notch her best stint yet in a juniors Grand Slam tournament.

The Filipino teen will next face Hong Kong’s Hong Yi Cody Wong in the round of 16.

In the junior girls’ doubles, Eala teams up with Indonesian Priska Nugroho as they battle Belgraver and Slovenia’s Pia Lovric later today.

The 14-year-old defeated France’s Julie Belgraver, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1, Tuesday in Melbourne Park.
