
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 27)— A magnitude 5.6 earthquake rocked Sarangani on Friday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The tectonic quake, or movement in the Earth’s crust, at 6:22 p.m. had a depth of 63 kilometers, Phivolcs said in its advisory. Its epicenter was near Glan town.
Intensity IV was recorded in General Santos City, and Intensity III in Kidapawan and Koronadal cities.
Intensity I was felt in Zamboanga City.
Phivolcs warned of aftershocks but said damage was not expected.
