What the Philippines looks like from space — through the lens of an astronaut

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 7)— What does the Philippines look like from space?

Soichi Noguchi, an astronaut from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, shared on Wednesday morning a rare photo of the archipelago taken from the International Space Station.

“Beautiful #Philippines islands!” Noguchi wrote on Twitter.

Noguchi, who holds degrees in aeronautical engineering and advanced interdisciplinary studies, also posted space views of other countries including his home country Japan, Ireland, the Netherlands, France, and Israel, among others.

Noguchi first joined the JAXA, previously known as the National Space Development Agency of Japan, in 1996.
